Everything merchants ask us before adding Simple Stats to their store — setup, pricing, data access, and what "plain English" actually means in practice.
What is Simple Stats?
Simple Stats is a Shopify analytics app that reads your store's orders, products, and customers and turns them into a plain-English daily summary plus a core metrics dashboard — revenue, orders, average order value, and repeat-customer rate — with no report builder to configure.
How long does setup take?
A few minutes to install and grant the read-only permissions it asks for. There's no report to build and no fields to map — the dashboard fills in from your existing order history and is populated by the next morning.
What does "plain English" actually mean?
Instead of only showing a chart, Simple Stats writes a short sentence naming what changed, by how much, and what's likely driving it — for example, "Revenue is up 12% this month, driven by repeat customers." It's generated by fixed rules applied to your own precomputed metrics, not a language model guessing at your data.
Is the free plan really free forever?
Yes. The free plan covers one store, the last 30 days of core metrics, and the daily plain-English summary, with no credit card and no time limit. It's not a stripped-down trial — see Pricing for the full breakdown.
What does Standard add, and is it worth $24/mo?
Standard adds full history beyond 30 days, week/month/quarter comparisons, customer and product segment breakdowns, and CSV export — for $24/mo flat, with a 7-day free trial. It's worth it once you want to compare periods or export data; the free plan is enough until then.
How often is the data updated?
Once a day. Simple Stats recomputes your metrics and writes a fresh summary on a daily schedule, so the dashboard opens instantly with numbers already sitting there rather than calculating anything while you wait.
What Shopify data does Simple Stats need access to?
Read-only access to your orders, products, and customers — the minimum needed to compute revenue, AOV, repeat-rate, and segment metrics. Simple Stats never requests permission to write to your store, theme, or checkout.
Do you sell or share my store's data?
No. Your order, product, and customer data is used only to compute your own metrics and summaries. It isn't sold, shared for advertising, or used to train any model. See the Privacy Policy for the full detail.
Can I export my data?
Yes, on the Standard plan — CSV export of your computed metrics and history. The free plan doesn't include export; it's one of the things Standard adds.
Can I use Simple Stats on more than one store?
Each store installs and is billed separately today — there's no multi-store bundle yet. If that's a blocker, email hello@keelhelm.com.
Is Simple Stats affiliated with Shopify?
No. Simple Stats is an independent app distributed through the Shopify App Store and billed through Shopify's platform, but it isn't built, owned, or endorsed by Shopify Inc. "Shopify" is a trademark of Shopify Inc.
